The africanDRONE community is a decentralised network of pilots who are passionate about using drones for societal good. This community aims to promote the use of drones for positive social impact, such as addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on sustainability, climate change, and sustainable cities and communities. The community focuses on two essential aspects of drone technology: drone journalism and drone mapping. Drone journalism involves using drones to capture footage of events and stories that would otherwise be challenging to cover using traditional methods. Drone mapping involves using drones to capture high-resolution images of landscapes that can be used to create detailed maps. Read more here.
